Troubleshooting

Stuck trying to figure out a feature, or plagued by a bug? In this article, you will find the most common problems, as well as their causes and solutions:

AI Builder

The AI builder sees frequent updates and bug fixes to improve user experience and reduce the number of errors. This may result in differences in the user iterface, or the general workflow.

Issue: SODEW ran out of AI credits.

Cause: Every SODEW site starts with 2,000 AI credits. Generating an entire website typically costs up to 500 credits, other updates typically cost units or tens of credits. Building a legitimate website should therefore not deplete all AI credits.

Solution: If you are testing the service, create a new one. For a production website, either edit the content and design manually, or request more AI credits via contact form.

Login and Email

You can create a SODEW website before entering your email to save the site. This action, as well as other changes to the core system, logs you out.

Issue: After entering my name and email, I haven’t received any login information.

Cause: Your mailing system might mark SODEW emails as spam.

Solution: Check your spam folder right away and again sometime later, in case the email is delayed.

Issue: I don’t know how to log in after being logged out.

Solution: Check the email sent to your address after saving the site. If WordPress logged you out while setting up a custom domain, enter your domain followed by /wp-admin/ into the browser’s address bar.

Custom Domain Setup

Custom domain setup typically requires you to set specific DNS records with your domain’s current DNS provider. These may be type A and AAAA records, or CNAME.

Issue: I changed my domain’s DNS records, but SODEW doesn’t recognize the change.

Cause: Changes in DNS need time to propagate through the internet. This time is mostly influenced by the TTL parameter of each record, and longer TTLs mean slower propagation. Other reasons for delays include incorrect setup or other changes delaying or blocking DNS propagation.

Solution: Check with your domain registrar and DNS service provider, whether the changes you have made are correct and what propagation times can you expect. If the system asks you to change DNS servers, or the records are fully propagated but the system isn’t responding, restart SODEW Move using the link available throughout the process.
